4 stars! Surprising and well plotted. Characters had depth and personalities that shone and moved them along the storyline. The story itself was well told with enough twists and turns to keep me guessing. I enjoyed this book. To be honest I was expecting the usual “cozy inherited bookshop murder story”, but there was so much more to this book. It was engrossing and the voices of the characters were true to the setting; I cared about them and what was happening in the story. Everything was wrapped up at the end in a satisfying conclusion. There were a couple of plot crumbs dropped that give me hope we will see more of these characters in another book. Very well done, definitely put it on your “OTTER” read list!! I was given a copy to read and share my opinions.
